The Glass Experience
Visit the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago
for this fascinating exhibit.
Watch live master glassmakers, from New York’s Corning Museum of Glass, demonstrate the science and art of glassblowing in the Corning Museum’s Hot Glass Show, taking place in the exhibit every day.
More than 20 large, hand-blown colored glass sculptures have been constructed for the exhibit by renowned glass artist Dale Chihuly.
Each organically-shaped sculpture is placed on a pedestal of a varying height, filling the air with speckled, brilliantly colored pieces—giving the illusion of a glass forest.
